HA Service Structure

Heroin Anonymous does not have a defined service structure, but, as Heroin Anonymous grows, areas consisting of multiple home groups often find the need to form an area business meeting. This business meeting allows a group conscience at an area level. It is a place where meeting representatives and board members can discuss and vote upon HA business such as H&I (hospitals and institutions) efforts, the 12 traditions, how to allocate funds, and much more. If you are familiar with the organization of other 12-step fellowships, we welcome and encourage your participation in these endeavors.

 Despite not having a defined service structure, HA has many opportunities for service at various levels. We encourage new members to get involved in service at the group level, Once you have established your foundation at the group level, we encourage you to branch to the next level of service at the intergroup, area, region, and finally at the HA world level. Ways you can get involved at the local group level include.

• Bring a friend to a meeting
• Set-up and break down the meeting
• Speak at a meeting, share your experience, strength and hope.
• Welcome newcomers, give them your phone number
• Say yes to service and grow in HA.
• Be Secretary or Chairperson of a Group/Meeting
• Be a Sponsor in HA
• Volunteer in the Intergroup Office
• Volunteer to bring an H&I meeting into a hospital of institution
• Answer phones to be there for a struggling addict and/or their loved ones
