SAA Service

Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA) is a community of people who support each other in order to stop their addictive sexual behavior. SAA is based on the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions and 12 Concepts of Alcoholics Anonymous. The 12 Steps are the foundation for personal recovery and the 12 Traditions help SAA groups sustain their unity and fellowship. The Twelve Concepts of provide guidance for service in the SAA fellowship. SAA Service Structure

Sex Addicts Anonymous service is performed at the group level, the intergroup level and the national level. Representatives, delegates, trustees, and committee members at all levels of Sex Addicts Anonymous service are the trusted servants of the SAA fellowship. They do not govern and have no authority. Each individual serves at the direction of the fellowships membership, with only a loving God as the ultimate authority. It is vital to the unity of SAA that information and service effort flow smoothly between all levels of the Sex Addicts Anonymous service structure.

Service in SAA ranges from one-on-one outreach to the worldwide work performed by the International Service Organization (ISO). Service is a way of working the steps and the traditions, especially the Twelfth Step and the fifth tradition. The paradox is that all types of service works helps us to stay sexually sober ourselves, regardless of the benefit others may receive from us.

New members are encouraged to get involved in service at the group level of Sex Addicts Anonymous. Once you have established your foundation at the group level, we encourage you to branch to the next level of service at the Intergroup level, before moving on to the national/international levels of Sex Addicts Anonymous service. Ways you can get involved at the local group level include.

  • Bring a friend to a meeting
  • Set-up and break down the meeting
  • Speak at a meeting, share your experience, strength and hope.
  • Welcome newcomers, give them your phone number
  • Say yes to service and grow in SAA
