Being of service is incredibly fulfilling and beneficial. Benefits include making you happy; connecting you to others; healing your mind, body and soul; combatting depression; increasing your self-confidence; gives you a sense of purpose; and brings fun and fulfillment into your life. If you want your life to get exponentially better, contact one of the organizations below. There’s a wide variety of wonderful, non 12 step related organizations which need service volunteers. We’ve highlighted a few of the feature charities we are fond of below and also provided an extensive list further down the page. The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project was founded in 1998 with the mission to end suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth by providing crisis intervention.

National Women’s Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation

NWCAVE fights human trafficking, domestic violence, missing children, sexual assault, sexual violence, stalking, bullying, hate crimes and all other forms of violence and exploitation against women and children.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels focuses on caring for individuals whose diminished mobility makes it hard to shop for food, prepare meals or socialize with others.

National Council on Aging

National Council on Aging (NCOA) helps people aged 60+ meet the challenges of aging. They partner with nonprofit organizations, government, and business to provide innovative community programs and services, online help, and advocacy.

Wounded Warrior Project

Wounded Warrior Project is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following September 11, 2001.Volunteer with the Wounded Warrior Project and help veterans and active duty service members.

Semper Fi Fund

The Semper Fi Fund raises money for struggling military families whose injured loved ones were recovering at the hospital, and to help wounded veterans to start new and productive lives.

National Coalition for the Homeless
