Recovery HQ Advertising Policies
Treatment providers (treatment centers, interventionists, detox facilities, etc.) that answer phone calls made to the website’s main number or respond to chat requests through the website are paid advertisers referred to as “treatment providers”. Before a treatment provider may become a partner treatment provider, the treatment provider goes through a vetting process in an attempt to determine whether such treatment provider is a licensed provider performing addiction recovery services for patients. Our process includes the treatment provider completing a standardized survey, hosting an on-site visit from our staff or contractors, and/or providing proof of licensure. Information gained from the survey includes a listing of the services offered by each respective facility, the qualifications and history of their staff, and accreditations they possess (i.e. Joint Commission, LegitScript, NAATP). On-site visits are designed merely to confirm the existence of an operational treatment provider with patients.
Our vetting process is not designed to determine the overall or relative quality of a treatment provider, either generally or for any particular issues facing potential users of the website. The vetting process should also not be viewed as an endorsement of any particular treatment provider or the results it will receive. Instead, we are merely trying to identify low quality/sub optimal providers (e.g., unlicensed or scam operators) within the industry and prevent them from advertising as a partner treatment provider on the website. We do not guaranty that all sub optimal providers will be identified, or that the website will be free from low quality advertising on the website as a partner treatment provider. We are, however, taking affirmative steps to minimize those occurrences.
RecoveryHQ.com offers partners opportunities to advertise with us on our site. We attempt to separate paid advertisements from the informational content that Recovery.com provides to its users. All paid advertisements are carefully vetted and reviewed by the RecoveryHQ.com team.
Paid advertisements are a separate revenue stream from any informational content and content given to RecoveryHQ.com from our contributors. Advertisers and sponsors do not influence informational content or editorial decisions. Advertisers and sponsors have no advance knowledge of RecoveryHQ.com’s informational content, nor does RecoveryHQ.com edit content to accommodate paid advertisements.
We attempt to clearly and prominently identify the advertiser by the advertiser’s trademark or signature. The appearance of an advertisement is not a guarantee or endorsement on behalf of RecoveryHQ.com. Advertisers have no control or influence over the results of searches conducted on RecoveryHQ.com.
Some ads may be personalized, meaning that they are displayed to you based on information collected about your visits to this site and elsewhere over time. However, information provided by advertisers is separate from informational content provided to you by RecoveryHQ.com. If you access RecoveryHQ.com from a different browser or erase cookies from your browser, you may need to renew your opt-out choice.
In order to avoid any possible conflict of interest, we do not accept advertisements promoting products or services that are inconsistent with our mission and ethics. Such advertisements include promotion of arms, sexual services, nudity, dating, drugs, medications, gambling, addiction treatment facilities known to be under investigation for, or known to have been convicted of, fraud, and any other product or service which we deem to be contrary to our vision and goals. For any questions, please Contact Us.
