K2 - Spice
K2 is a mixture of herbs and spices sprayed with a synthetic chemical similar to the THC in marijuana. It's commonly bought in various retail outlets, tobacco shops, head shops, and on the Internet. Street names for K2 include Spice Silver, Spice Gold, Spice Diamond, and K2. Users say it produces a high similar to pot's THC. In some cases, they report that the high from spice is stronger than that of marijuana. People who use it are prone to addiction.

- The New York Times reported that 6,000 people were admitted to emergency rooms in New York City because of their usage of K2. Police confiscated 2 million packets of K2 during a raid in the fall of 2015
- Most people smoke K2, but it can also be brewed into tea. One in ten 12th-graders reported that they had tried K2 at least once
K2/Spice Addiction Causes
It is a myth that it is the safe alternative to Marijuana, but it has its own negative and different levels. Spice was recently banned in Russia, Lithuania, Sweden, Austria, and Germany. Spice and K2 contain chemical compounds that are potentially hazardous to the user's health. Ultimately, users are putting themselves at serious risk when they use this drug. Even if they falsely believe they have developed a tolerance to this drug, their excessive exposure could result in death and irreversible damage to the nervous system and other vital organs.
